Ramadan/Lenten 2023: Kaduna Pastor shares bags of grains to Muslim and Christian Journalists

 



Few days the after the massive distribution of foodstuffs to over 1000  less privileged Muslims in Kaduna State North Western Nigeria. 


The General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, Pastor Yohanna Buru has again dole out bags of grains to Muslim and Christian journalists in the state to strengthening them. 


He said, journalist are like any other human being on earth, they need support, care, and love, that is why "we bought them these grains to encourage them to have foods throughout the month".


According to him, both Muslims and Christians are fasting at this season, hence the need to strengthen them with foodstuff in promoting peace building through stories related to peace journalism in the country. 


"It is really a thing for joy that both the Ramadan and Lenten seasons are being observed separately by Muslims and Christians to use the Holy months in praying and fasting for peace and unity in the country".


Adding that, Christians are also doing their lent at this season which is going to last for 40 days. While Muslims are observing the Ramadan fast that would last for 30 days. 


He said, Ramadan is a time for spiritual reflection, self-improvement, and compassion towards others, and we pray that this month may be a time of peace and joy within your community.  


Responding some of the journalists that received the gift Mohammed sabiu and Andrew mishelia expressed satisfaction over the gesture and lauded the foresightness of Pastor Yohanna Buru.


They called on wealthy individuals to always help the needy during a season like this, "this year's Ramadan comes amidst of high cost of living, due to scarcity of naira notes across the country. 


While appealing to state government to create an opportunity for massive employment to reduce idleness and laziness among youths across the country.
