The Concerned Kaduna Citizens have said Hon Tajuddeen Abbas has the pedigree and experience to lead the green chamber of the Legislature.
They stated this during a Press Briefing held at Arewa House, Kaduna on Tuesday 9th May 2023.
Addressing the newsmen, the Convener: Yusuf Umar described Hon Tajuddeen Abbas, as a fourth termer, who Chaired numerous Committees over the last twelve years as well as sponsored over 40 and 74 Bills in the 8th and 9th Assemblies respectively. 21 of such Bills have since been assented to by President Muhammadu Buhari.
“As you may be aware, the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held an important meeting to discuss and subsequently approve the zoning of leadership positions for the 10th National Assembly”.
“A release after the said meeting indicated the zoning of positions to certain geopolitical zones. We are particularly elated with the zoning of the seat of Speaker of the House of Representatives to the Northwest, and subsequently the endorsement of Hon Abbas Tajuddeen, representing Zaria federal constituency for the position”.
Umar said Hon Tajuddeen has promised to lead the House by carrying everyone along, giving equal opportunity to all members.
“The Concerned Kaduna Citizens wish to use this opportunity to extend our appreciation to the President-elect and APC’s National Working Committee for finding Hon Abbas Tajuddeen as a worthy person to lead the House of Representatives”.
“I hope his subsequent emergence as Speaker will be as smooth as his endorsement. I will also like to use this opportunity to call on the other aspirants to close ranks and support him”.
