The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Plateau State Chapter, Hon. Chris Hassan has congratulated members of the State and National assembly, following the successful inauguration of the respective 10th Assemblies on Tuesday 13th, June, 2023.
A statement by the Personal Assistant on Media and Protocol to the PDP State Chairman, Mr. Kefas Sumdi, appreciated the members for their maturity and conduct at the various assembly complexes.
On Tuesday, Hon. Moses Sule & Hon. Fom Gwottson emerged the 10th speaker & Dep. Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly and appreciated the members for their commitment to democratic ideal.
He also congratulated the National assembly members of the 10th assembly and described the development in both chambers as "victory for democracy and urged them to stand in defence of democracy for the common good of the country".
"What is paramount to the PDP is the sustenance of our democracy and the welfare of our people, irrespective of creed, class or ethnicity.
In this regard, the PDP chairman noted with gratitude the people of Plateau State for their immersed support given to the party during the last general election and said the party was willing and ready to partner with like-minded individuals in other parties and groups to sustain our democracy, ensure good governance, promote the unity and stability of our state.
The PDP chairman charged it's members in the National Assembly to continue to uphold the tenets of democracy and enforce the constitutionally vested parliamentary role of check and balance to ensure the much desired accountability and probity in the system.
The Chairman also commended Gov. Caleb Mutfwang for supporting the party since his inauguration, success made so far and called on the members to be loyal to the party as it is enshrined in the constitution.
