Borno State Urban and Rural Renewal Project In Line With Master Plan - Liman Gana Mustapha (GM)

The Borno State Urban and Rural Renewal Project in Maiduguri was in line with the State Master Plan which was embarked on in 2015. 

The General Manager, of Borno State Urban Planning and Development Board, Liman Gana Mustapha disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Kaduna.

He explained that the renewal project has led to the demolition of uncompleted and illegal structures in the state which become a hiding place for criminals in the state.

Liman Gana Mustapha noted that the government is making headway with the state’s development plan, tackling environmental degradation, and embarking on massive regeneration of the forests to encourage the private sector.

“Our governor is taking advantage of the urbanisation to build a resilient urban environment for our people."


Liman Gana also revealed that the Borno state government in the 2024 budget presented before the state House of Assembly will close all the IDP camps in the state to invest the money for more development activities in the state.

"Our Governor (Governor Zulum) reiterates his commitment to the resettlement and rehabilitation of communities, affected by the insurgency.

”This will enhance the living conditions of the people, and also provide a sense of security and stability,” he said.

The General Manager charged the people of the state to support the government in its thrive to improve the economic activities that will encourage more investors in the state
