The prestigious Coalition of Arewa Media Reporters (CAWER) Awards ceremony held on Sunday, February 25th at the Arewa House Kaduna, was a celebration of remarkable achievements and unwavering dedication of individuals who have shaped our communities. Among the distinguished awardees was Alhaji Sharif Abubakar Usmaniyya, a seasoned energy expert based in Kaduna.


"Alhaji Sharif Abubakar Usmaniyya Honored for Exceptional Expertise"


Among the distinguished awardees, Alhaji Sharif Abubakar Usmaniyya, a seasoned energy expert based in Kaduna, stood out. His exceptional contributions to the petroleum industry have left an indelible mark. From optimizing production processes to championing sustainable practices, Alhaji Usmaniyya's professional prowess has elevated the sector. But his impact extends beyond the sales and the marketing realm—he has been a mentor to countless young ones, guiding them toward successful careers in the Petroleum sector.


Next was " A Resounding, Trailblazer Community Leader & International Businessman" - Mu'azu Ruma


Alhaji Mu'azu Abubakar Ruma, the traditional title holder of Tafidan Afaka, stood tall among the awardees. As the Chairman of The Afaka Community (TAC), he has led by example, fostering unity and progress. Beyond his community leadership, Alhaji Ruma's trailblazing efforts in the transportation and marketing of petroleum products across the country have been commendable. His company, Ruma Marketers International Limited, has set new standards in the industry.


"Dr. Yusuf Yakubu Arrigasiyyu: A Beacon of Leadership"


Another luminary honored at the event was Dr. Yusuf Yakubu Arrigasiyyu, whose tenure as the Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency exemplified transparency, and accountability, and promoted professionalism. Dr. Arrigasiyyu's leadership has made him a role model for the youth in the Rigasa community of the Igabi local government area.

The awards ceremony emphasized the critical role that these awardees play in shaping the community development landscape. By recognizing their efforts, the Coalition of Media Reporters aims to encourage more positive engagement with the youth demography. As Alhaji Usmaniyya himself stated during his acceptance speech, "We must harness the energy of our young people, channeling it into productive endeavors. When they find meaningful employment, they stay away from the pitfalls of political errands and thuggery."

The evening concluded with a sense of optimism—a collective commitment to a brighter community future. These awardees, through their expertise, mentorship, and leadership, continue to inspire the next generation of young  Nigerians. As Alhaji Mu'azu Abubakar Ruma aptly put it, "Our legacy lies not only in what we achieve but in how we empower others to follow in our footsteps."
