In a decisive move aimed at alleviating financial burdens on students, Governor Uba Sani has issued a directive to cease levy collection by the management of the Kaduna State University (KASU).

This is contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Muhammad Lawal Shehu, on 12th February, 2024.

The Governor emphasized that such levies contradict the State Government's recent reduction of fees, which was implemented in 2023 to mitigate the impact of escalating living costs, particularly following the removal of petroleum subsidies.

Highlighting the government's commitment to easing the plight of its citizens, the statement reiterated its dedication to implementing policies, programs, and projects aimed at providing relief to the underprivileged and vulnerable populations. Furthermore, it affirmed the government's unwavering resolve to ensure free and high-quality education for all residents of Kaduna State, from primary to tertiary levels.
