Zamfara North senatorial aspirant, Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, has described the appointment of Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar as Director-General of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign as a strategic and timely decision.
Shinkafi made the remarks during a press conference at his residence in Samaru, Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, where he commended President Tinubu for choosing an experienced politician for the sensitive campaign position.
According to him, Yari’s years of experience in electioneering, party administration and grassroots mobilisation have prepared him for the responsibility of coordinating a nationwide presidential campaign.
He noted that Yari’s record as a two-term governor of Zamfara State and former Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum demonstrated his ability to build political structures, manage stakeholders and resolve conflicts within the political space.
Shinkafi further said the former governor possesses the national network, organisational capacity and goodwill required to mobilise support for the President across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
“He understands the dynamics of Nigerian politics. He has the resources, the structure, and the goodwill to mobilize support for President Tinubu. His appointment will guarantee victory for the APC in 2027, in shaa Allah,” he said.
The senatorial aspirant urged APC members and supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation by returning to their respective communities and working for the success of the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
He also called on party members to support all APC candidates and put aside internal differences, stressing that unity and collective commitment would be critical to securing electoral victory.
Shinkafi expressed optimism that the APC would perform strongly in the 2027 elections, citing Yari’s political experience, sagacity and nationwide network as major assets to the President’s re-election campaign.
