Pastor Dr. Yohanna Buru, the General Overseer of the Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry in Kaduna, has extended his warm fecilitation to Muslims across the globe, as he joined in the Maulud Nabi celebrations held in the southern part of Kaduna state.
During a parade that marked this year's Maulud festivities, Pastor Buru emphasized the significance of the celebrations, stating that they provide a valuable opportunity for Muslims and Christians to come together, interact, engage in dialogue, and deliberate on better ways to foster peace and harmony between the two faith communities.
Pastor Buru noted that thousands of Muslims annually join him at his church in December to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
He highlighted that Muslims from various northern states frequently visit him to strengthen relationships and engage in dialogue to promote peaceful coexistence among adherents of different faith-based organizations in the region.
Remarkably, Pastor Buru shared that he participates in over 25 to 30 different Maulud celebrations each year, spanning in Nigeria and neighboring African countries.
He emphasized that celebrating Maulud extends beyond Muslims alone, as the Prophet's message transcends tribe, religion, cultural, and historical differences.
In a gracious gesture, Pastor Buru extended his felicitation to prominent Muslim figures, including Sultan of Sokoto Alhajii Ss'ad Abubakar II, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, Sheikh Ibrahim Yakubu Elzazzaky, Sheikh Yahaya Jingir, and Sheikh Ahmed Mahmud Gumi.
In his response, Mallam Mohammad Sani, one of the Islamic scholars present at the event, expressed delight and gratitude for Pastor Buru's visit, highlighting the significance of interfaith understanding and collaboration in fostering peace and unity in the community.
