Wife Of Kaduna State Governor, Hafsat Uba Sani Gives Out 25M To 250 Aged, Across 23 LGAs To Support Their Wellbeing

No fewer than 250 elderly persons from across 23 local government areas of Kaduna State have benefited from the Renewed Hope Initiative Elderly Support Scheme.

Addressing the beneficiaries before the disbursement on Thursday at the Sardauna Memorial Foundation Hall, Kaduna, the first lady if Kaduna State, Hafsat Uba Sani said each of the beneficiary would receive N100,000.

She said that the scheme was designed to support elderly citizens aged 65 and above in all the LGAs of the state.

“The beneficiaries were carefully selected from the 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs) across the state and each beneficiaries will get N100,000.

Hafsat Uba Sani who expressed optimism that the support would go a long way to cushion the effect of the economic situation and alleviate the health burdens of the elderly, said the gesture was borne out of a steadfast commitment to their well-being.

While expressing hope that the intervention will offer some measure of relief to the beneficiaries, the State First Lady thanked Senator Remi Tinubu for the kind gesture.

"May God blessed and endowed Senator Mrs Tinubu with sound health to continue with this excellent initiative".

Earlier in a welcome remark, the Kaduna State Finance Commissioner, Shizzer Bada lauded the state’s first lady for the effort and commitment to ensure a seamless disbursement.

"Her Excellency, Hafsat Uba Sani is here in person to ensure that all beneficiaries are treated equally and treared well."

"This initiative is from the Nigeria's first lady, Her Excellency Remi Tinubu which she earmarked 950M to assist the elderly across the 36 states of the country."

Shizzer who said the gesture was unique as it targeted the elder in the society that were often forgotten, commended the first lady for the support at this time.

She said that the beneficiaries were carefully selected from the 23 local government areas across the state.

The commissioner said that modalities had been put in place to ensure that the beneficiaries got their monies directly and not through a third party.

In an interview some of the beneficiaries con behalf of the beneficiaries, Anna Adamu, Hauwa'u  Haruna, and Abubakar Ango expressed gratitude to the first lady for the gesture.

They prayed to God to bless her and for the success of the her husband’s administration.
