Kaduna State Government has accorded high priority in the areas of health institution revival, poverty reduction, and rural transformation projects as part of deliberate policies and programs embarked upon by the Governor Uba Sani administration to enhance the well-being and improve upon the socio-economic standard of people of the state.
Principal Private Secretary of Governor Uba Sani, Prof. Ayuba Bello disclosed this at a media parley to interface with journalists and shed more light on the activities of the state government held at NUJ Kaduna State Council Secretariat in Kaduna.
Prof. Ayuba Bello said as part of the policy drive of the Governor Uba Sani administration in uplifting the living standard of people of the state and to achieve the set targets of its developmental agenda in line with the yearnings and aspirations of the state populace, necessitates pegging of the state annual budget for the 2025 fiscal year at 70 percent for capital projects and 30 percent as recurrent expenditure.
According to him, the initiative embarked upon would pave the way to execute a large chunk of people-oriented developmental programs on projects, such as revitalization of the state health institution, poverty reduction programs, financial inclusion, employment generation, and wealth creation programs, rural road projects among others to transcend into rapid infrastructural, rural transformation, and economic empowerment projects targeted this by the State Government.
He further explained that for the furtherance of the developmental strides of the state government, it has concluded 68 rural road projects executed at different locations in the state, while in collaboration with relevant security agencies, it had also conducted peace dialogues with different groups involved in the security challenges experiencing in some parts of the state, which led to the reopening of a rural market that was closed back some years back in the state.
The Principal Private Secretary Prof. Bello then then solicited for the support and cooperation of journalists in the areas of publicizing activities of the Governor Uba Sani administration, urging them to be more objective in their reportage and criticisms of the state government as it would continue to maintain a positive stance and an open-door policy by also providing them with all the necessary support to successfully discharge their respective responsibilities in the State.
In his remarks at the event, the newly elected chairman of the Kaduna Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Abdulgafar Alabellewe said the media parley was part of initiatives to further strengthen the relationship between the State Government and the Kaduna [It seems there's a missing word or phrase here. Perhaps "went into a proper perspective" should be "went into a proper perspective and also lay the foundation".
He also lay the foundation for future engagements hence the need for a more robust relationship between the government and the media as partners progress in dissemination of government achievements, policies, and programs set aside to be implemented for the benefit of the general public.
