As Nigeria joins the world in celebrating the 2025 Children’s Day, the Caleb Danladi Foundation (CDF) has called for urgent and collaborative efforts to address the challenges hindering the development and rights of children in the country.
In a statement released to mark the occasion, the founder of the foundation, Captain Caleb Danladi Bako, lamented the persistent issues facing Nigerian children, including limited access to quality education, poverty, and inadequate opportunities for personal growth.
Captain Danladi emphasized that this year’s theme, "Children: Our Future and Our Responsibility," aligns with CDF’s mission to provide support and opportunities for children to thrive. He reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to advancing child welfare and development in Kaduna State through targeted interventions.
As part of its efforts, the foundation announced plans to launch an awareness campaign on the dangers of out-of-school children, highlighting risks such as exploitation, child labor, and diminished future prospects.
Additionally, CDF underscored the importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education in preparing children for the global economy. "Our STEM initiatives are designed to equip children with the skills needed to compete internationally and drive innovation," Captain Danladi stated.
The foundation also revealed plans to expand its programs across Kaduna State, introducing new projects such as digital literacy courses and vocational training to empower children and tackle emerging challenges.
Appeal for Greater Investment in Children
Captain Danladi urged individuals, organizations, and government agencies to increase investments in children’s welfare, stressing that education remains the key to unlocking their potential. "We must provide scholarships, mentorship, and learning resources to ensure every child has the tools to succeed," he said.
While congratulating Nigerian children on the occasion of Children’s Day, Captain Danladi encouraged them to pursue excellence and avoid negative influences that could jeopardize their future.
The Caleb Danladi Foundation remains dedicated to fostering a brighter future for Nigeria’s children, calling on all stakeholders to join hands in securing their rights and opportunities.
