Kaduna, February 24, 2026
A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kachia Local Government Area, Amanda Tanko Usman, has called on Muslims and Christians observing Ramadan and Lent to dedicate the period to prayers for peace, unity, and security in Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole.
In a statement made available to journalists in Kaduna, Amanda Tanko described the simultaneous observance of Ramadan and Lent as a rare and significant moment that should inspire spiritual renewal, tolerance, and stronger bonds of brotherhood among citizens.
She expressed optimism that the joint fasting period would further strengthen the peace and security framework being pursued by the Kaduna State Government under the leadership of Uba Sani.
The APC member urged adherents of both faiths to use the season for sober reflection and sustained prayers for leaders at all levels, stressing that national development requires collective support beyond ethnic or religious affiliations.
Amanda Tanko commended the present administration for the developmental strides recorded across the state, noting that peace has gradually returned to communities that were previously plagued by insecurity. She particularly praised Governor Uba Sani’s efforts at restoring normalcy and rebuilding confidence in affected areas.
She further appealed to Muslims and Christians to unite in prayers for the continued success of the APC-led government in Kaduna State and at the national level, expressing confidence that such support would enable the government to fulfill its mandate and improve the welfare of the people.
While extending her goodwill, Amanda Tanko wished Muslims a blessed Ramadan and Christians a spiritually rewarding Lenten season, urging all residents to sustain the values of love, sacrifice, and peaceful coexistence beyond the period of religious observance.
