The Chairman of the Ebira Peoples Association, Kaduna State Branch, Engr. Bashir Umar Garba, says the association’s leadership is on the right trajectory towards achieving its objectives, citing the gradual progress recorded in the two years since assuming office.

Engr. Garba stated this while speaking with newsmen during a civil engagement programme for members, awards presentation and a ₦250 million fundraising event organised by the association at Arewa House in Kaduna.

He said although the present leadership had recorded notable achievements, it remained committed to exploring more opportunities and initiatives capable of delivering greater impact and improving the wellbeing, economic growth and development of Ebira communities residing in Kaduna State.

According to him, the leadership has largely focused on strengthening unity among members, promoting accountability and mobilising resources towards the construction of a befitting Ebira House that would serve the interests of members and provide a permanent home for the association.

He noted that the fundraising drive had already begun to yield positive results, with the Chief Launcher of the event, Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani Umar, pledging to donate a plot of land for the proposed project.

He added that the Co-Launcher also pledged a donation of ₦20 million towards the actualisation of the association’s objectives.

Engr. Garba further disclosed that the association was exploring partnerships with non-governmental organisations to introduce programmes in skills acquisition and capacity building, educational scholarships, medical and legal assistance, as well as an endowment scheme to support less-privileged members.

The chairman also reiterated the association’s commitment to peaceful coexistence, saying its members had consistently been encouraged to maintain peaceful relationships with their host communities across Kaduna State.

Speaking separately, Engr. Sani Salami Jimoh, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kaduna-based Sanjimm Softwares and Computer Designs Company, who was among those honoured for his philanthropic and humanitarian contributions, expressed appreciation for the recognition.

Engr. Jimoh described the award as a significant milestone in his life and said the recognition would further motivate him to contribute more towards the welfare of members and support the realisation of the association’s vision, objectives and interventions across Kaduna State.
