Hope is rising in Saminaka, Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State, as road construction officials on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, visited the town to inspect and measure the proposed road project sponsored by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.
The inspection team, led by construction officials and accompanied by Honourable Mato Dogara, Honourable Ibrahim Lazuru and other stakeholders, assessed the road ahead of the commencement of work.
Speaking at the Emir's Palace in Saminaka, Hon. Mato Dogara said the Speaker was deeply concerned about the persistent complaints from residents over the deplorable condition of the road, which prompted him to intervene.
He disclosed that the proposed construction would cover approximately 10 kilometres, from Musa Tiga to Hayin Gada, after the bridge.
Dogara assured residents that necessary arrangements were being made to ensure the project commenced without delay, appealing to the community to remain patient and hopeful.
In his remarks, the Emir of Saminaka expressed appreciation to the Speaker, the Kaduna State Government and other stakeholders for responding to the community's long-standing concerns.
He explained that the poor condition of the road had badly affected farmers' ability to transport their agricultural produce to markets, exposing them to difficulties, losses and additional costs.
The Emir expressed hope for the speedy commencement and completion of the project, while urging those responsible to ensure that the promise translated into action.
He also commended Governor Uba Sani, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and other individuals contributing to the development of Saminaka and Lere Local Government Area.
During an interview, Honourable Mato Dogara reaffirmed the commitment to the road project, assuring residents that the construction would commence as promised. He appealed to the people to remain confident, saying their concerns would soon receive attention.
Similarly, Honourable Ibrahim Lazuru expressed confidence in the Speaker's commitment, stating that Tajudeen Abbas had a record of fulfilling his promises. He expressed optimism that the Saminaka road project would commence soon, by God's grace.
The APC Chairman in Lere Local Government Area, Mr. Jonathan Shekarau, also expressed confidence in the proposed construction, describing the latest assurance as a commitment that would be fulfilled.
He appreciated Speaker Tajudeen Abbas for his efforts towards the development of Lere, while also commending Honourable Mato Dogara for his role in facilitating the project.
The gathering ended with prayers for peace, progress and development in Lere Local Government Area and Kaduna State at large.
