The Chairman of the Northern Governors' Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON has expressed deep sadness over the demise of a distinguished elder statesman and former Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Adamu Fika CFR, the Waziri of Fika who died at the age of 90 years.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the late Dr. Fika as an exemplary leader and towering figure who left an indelible mark on Nigeria's civil service and educational institutions, and whose legacy transcends his lifetime.
"Dr. Fika's commitment to integrity, honesty, and a corruption-free civil service was legendary. He was resolute in his pursuit of a merit-based and transparent public service, firmly believing that those values were the cornerstones of a strong and prosperous nation".
Describing Malam Adamu Fika's demise as a monumental national loss, Governor Inuwa Yahaya acknowledged that his death marks the end of an era, but his legacy will live on as an enduring example of what a true civil servant should embody.
He further stressed that the elder statesman's vision for strong national institutions will remain a source of inspiration for generations to come.
Governor Inuwa also commended the deceased’s remarkable services and contributions to national development when he served as the pro-chancellor, chairman of the governing council of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 2018, and as the chairman of the board of trustees of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) where he served until his demise.
The Northern Governors' Forum Chairman conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the Fika Emirate, and the Government and people of Yobe State, praying to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and reward his good deeds with Aljannat Firdaus.
