Governor Inuwa Yahaya Mourns Gombe Islamic Scholar, Imam Saidu Abubakar

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON has expressed sadness over the demise of a renowned Islamic scholar and Chief Imam of Izala Mosque Number 2 in Gombe, Imam Saidu Abubakar who died in the early hours of today at the age of 71. 

This is contained in a statement issued by the Director General, Press Affairs, Government House, Gombe State, Ismaila Uba Misilli 17th November, 2023.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the death of the the cleric as a huge loss, citing his invaluable contributions to Islamic teachings and the broader community development.  

"We have indeed lost not just a scholar, but a guiding light in our community. His insightful guidance and profound messages through his Friday sermons, and his commitment to spreading knowledge, especially during the holy month of Ramadan through televised appearances, demonstrated his deep commitment to the upliftment of the Ummah," Governor Inuwa Yahaya stated.  

He said the late Imam's legacy of knowledge, compassion, and service will continue to be remembered and cherished. 

The Governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the late Imam, the leadership and members of Jama'atu Izalatil Bid'ah wa Iqamatus sunnah as well as the entire Muslim Ummah. 

He prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late cleric and reward his good deeds with Aljannat Firdaus.
