Pankshin, Plateau - In a solemn statement released on February 19, 2024, Mrs. Josephine Piyo, the Deputy Governor of Plateau State, expressed profound dismay over the tragic demise of Mr. Sylvanus Namang, the State Publicity Secretary of the APC. Namang fell victim to unknown gunmen on Sunday, February 18, in the Pankshin Local Government Area.
Piyo, labeling the incident as both unfortunate and shocking, paid tribute to Namang's unwavering dedication as a spokesperson for the APC in Plateau. She emphasized his substantial impact on both the party and the state at large.
Urging citizens to report any suspicious activities within their communities, Piyo called for unified efforts to combat the recurring wave of violence in the state. The Deputy Governor fervently appealed to security agencies to heighten their endeavors in tracking down the perpetrators, ensuring they face the full force of justice.
Expressing heartfelt condolences, Piyo extended her sympathies to Namang's immediate family, the APC, political associates, and friends. She concluded with a solemn prayer for the repose of Namang's soul and strength for his family to endure the irreparable loss.
