The newly elected Executive Committee of the Kaduna State Central Union of Traders has been inaugurated, with Alhaji Bala Adamu Milton emerging as the new Chairman.
The inauguration ceremony, held at the Arewa House Auditorium in Kaduna, saw the swearing-in of fourteen newly elected executive members of the union.
The event attracted a large gathering of traders and marketers from across Kaduna State who came to witness the inauguration and the beginning of a new administration of the union.
Speaking with journalists after the ceremony, a trader from the Sheikh Abubakar Gumi Central Market, Kaduna, Alhaji Yusuf Garba Maigwal, commended the Kaduna State Government for what he described as steps taken to address concerns raised by traders over the high cost of renting shops at the market.
He also praised the peaceful relationship that has prevailed among traders, union officials and the state government since the administration of Governor Uba Sani assumed office.
Alhaji Maigwal, however, called on the state government to sustain its efforts in addressing challenges confronting traders and markets across the state.
He further appealed for the expansion of empowerment programmes and grant schemes for traders, saying such interventions would enable them to grow their businesses, create more economic opportunities and contribute further to the development of Kaduna State.
