In a heartfelt tribute to the late Sir Lucky Babatunde Omoluwa, Kaduna Golf Club hosted a Pro-Am tournament that attracted over 250 golfers from across the nation. Organized with meticulous detail by a dedicated committee chaired by Engr Andrew Yakubu, the event celebrated the enduring legacy of Omoluwa within the golfing community.
The tournament, held over the weekend, showcased the skills of both male and female golfers, including Nigerian professionals, across various categories. Salisu Abba emerged as the overall winner for men with a remarkable 64 nett, while Dorcas Daniel secured the ladies' overall victory with a score of 66 nett.
In the Ladies categories, Vera David secured the top spot with an impressive gross score of 82, followed by Lucy Monday as the runner-up with a gross score of 88.
Christina Emmanuel claimed victory in the nett category with a score of 71, while Eunice Pam secured the runner-up position with a commendable 68 nett.
Shifting the focus to the Men's categories, which are divided into 0-14 and 15-28, the competition saw intense battles for the first and second overall winners.
The results showcased the skill and determination of the participants, with each category producing both a runner-up and an overall winner, adding an extra layer of excitement to the tournament.
In the award ceremony, Engr Andrew Yakubu conveyed his appreciation to the participants, underlining the significance of honoring the late golf enthusiast through this esteemed competition. Mr. Ken Nwanko, the club captain, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing Omoluwa's noteworthy contributions to Kaduna Golf Club as both a Trustee and a passionate enthusiast.
