All Progressives Congress Appoints Acting Publicity Secretary for Plateau State - Frontline News





The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State has announced the appointment of a new Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Shittu Bamaiyi Yakmut mni.

According to a statement issued by the State Chairman of the Party, Hon. Rufus Bature, the appointment follows extensive meetings and consultations with stakeholders, prompted by the tragic murder of the late Hon. Sylvanus Namang in Pankshin a few weeks ago by unknown assailants.

Alhaji Shittu Bamaiyi, who previously served as the spokesman of the APC's gubernatorial candidate, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He is a veteran journalist and seasoned administrator, having served as the General Manager of the Plateau Radio Television Corporation, State Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, and Chief Press Secretary of the Nigerian Mining Corporation, among other distinguished positions.

Additionally, Alhaji Bamaiyi has held roles such as Special Assistant to the Minister for Information, Personal Assistant to the Ministers for Industries and Transport, Secretary-General of ALGON, and board member of various government agencies including the Plateau Pilgrims Welfare Board, Small and Medium Enterprises Agency, and the Immigration, Fire Service, and Prisons boards.

Furthermore, he served as a Director of the Bank of Infrastructure and a board member of the Nigeria Institute of Social and Economic Research (NISER), where he chaired the Finance and General Purpose Committee (F&GPC).

Alhaji Shittu Bamaiyi is an alumnus of Boys Secondary Gindiri, Nigeria Institute of Journalism, University of Jos, London School of Management, and the prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies Kuru.

Hon. Rufus Bature congratulated Alhaji Shittu on his new appointment, urging him to leverage his extensive experience as a journalist to effectively promote and publicize the activities of the APC in Plateau State.
