Kaduna State Completes Major Hajj Airlift, Over 3,700 Pilgrims Now in Saudi Arabia

The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has successfully concluded a significant phase of its Hajj 2025 operations, airlifting over 3,700 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.

This is contained in a statement by the Public Relations Officer, Yunusa Mohammed Abdullahi.

“This achievement, spanning 12 flights, commenced last Wednesday with an inaugural flight flagged off by the state government”.

According to the statement “Pilgrims from diverse local government areas across Kaduna State, including Giwa, Ikara, Kauru, Jaba, Makarfi, Kaduna South, Kaura, Lere, Kudan, Sanga, Kubau, Zangon Kataf, and Zaria, have been transported directly to Madinah. Each group is set to spend four days in the holy city before proceeding to Makkah. During their stay in Madinah, pilgrims are engaging in spiritual visits to the Holy Prophet’s Mosque and other significant religious sites.”

The State Amirul Hajj for this year's pilgrimage, His Royal Highness the Emir of Kauru, Alhaji Yau Shehu Usman, has been personally leading some of the pilgrims on these important visits in Madinah, underscoring the state's commitment to a well-guided spiritual journey.

Confirming the positive conditions of the pilgrims, Malam Kasim Aminu, a member of the Kaduna contingent currently in Madinah, stated that all pilgrims are in good health and high spirits as they continue their spiritual journey.

Meanwhile, a steady flow of Kaduna pilgrims has begun departing Madinah for Makkah, having completed their designated four-day stay. The first contingent of Kaduna State pilgrims has already arrived in Makkah from Madinah, where they received a "red carpet" welcome. This heartfelt gesture reportedly moved many to tears, highlighting the profound spiritual significance of their arrival.

Each pilgrim was also provided with a welcome pack from the Muassasa, containing essential items such as snacks, water, and umbrellas, ensuring their comfort as they settle in, the statement added

A total of 910 Kaduna pilgrims have now successfully relocated to Makkah, positioning them for the main Hajj rites, which are anticipated to commence early next month.
