The Kogi State Government has implemented policies and programmes that have yielded positive results in transforming critical sectors of the state’s economy, exceeding benchmarks set for the state’s development trajectory within three years of its inception.

The Special Adviser on Media to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo stated this during a media parley with journalists at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna.

The Special Adviser on Media, Alhaji Isma’ila Isah, said notable areas where the state government recorded milestones include education, security, and infrastructure development, among others.

According to him, the administration of Ahmed Ododo in Kogi has revitalized and remodeled 788 public schools, while 13,000 adolescent schoolgirls have been kept in school through intervention support funds of over half a billion naira to enhance the standard of education in the state.

He further explained that, as part of the Kogi State Government’s education revitalization programme, three out of the nine planned Model Mega Schools have been constructed and commissioned, with one to be established in each of the state’s federal constituencies.

The schools are designed to provide specialized training for students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Additionally, 88 Primary Health Care Centres have been revitalized in the health sector.

Alhaji Isma’ila Isah also said Kogi State is among the states that secured approval from the National Security Adviser to procure and operate combat air drones to combat criminal activities and enhance security across the state.

Earlier, in his opening remarks, the Secretary of the NUJ Kaduna Council, Comrade Gambo Santos, commended the Kogi State Special Adviser on Media for considering NUJ Kaduna for the parley, describing it as remarkable and a wise decision.

He added that it was also a clear demonstration of comradeship, considering the media as his primary constituency.
