The Speaker made the call during the graduation ceremony of students of the Qur’anic Memorisation Training Programme organised by the Na’ibi Foundation and Islamic Education School in Kaduna. The institution was founded by the National Chairman of Jama’atu Izalatul Bid’ah Wa Ikamatus Sunnah, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau.
Abbas Tajudeen stressed the need for graduates of Qur’anic memorisation institutions to combine their knowledge of the Holy Qur’an with good conduct, discipline and sound moral orientation in order to positively impact society.
According to him, memorising the Qur’an should go beyond recitation, noting that students must reflect the teachings of Islam through exemplary behaviour and commitment to peace, unity and societal development.
The Speaker also urged the management of the Na’ibi Foundation Islamic School to expand its Qur’anic memorisation centres to Zaria, his hometown, to enable more students from the area benefit from its Islamic education and moral training programmes.
He said such expansion would further strengthen the propagation of Islamic teachings and contribute to the moral upbringing of younger generations.
In his remarks, Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, advocated the integration of vocational and skills acquisition training into the institution’s one-year Qur’anic memorisation programme.
The governor explained that combining Islamic education with practical skills would empower graduates to become self-reliant and productive members of society.
He noted that the initiative would also help discourage youth involvement in social vices, drug abuse and other criminal activities often linked to insecurity and banditry in parts of the country.
Governor Uba Sani further commended the Na’ibi Foundation for its contribution to Islamic education and youth moral development, urging other organisations and wealthy individuals to support similar initiatives aimed at promoting education, discipline and peaceful coexistence in society.
