APC Kaduna State Publicity Secretary Hon. Sani Haruna has praised Governor Uba Sani's selection of Comrade Jerry Adams as his running mate for the 2027 governorship race, calling it a deliberate move to deepen unity across the state.
In a television interview, Haruna said pairing Adams a Christian from Southern Kaduna with the Muslim governor marks a meaningful step toward religious balance and broader representation in state leadership. He argued the pick reflects Uba Sani's determination to unite people across religious, ethnic, and social lines.
Haruna noted the timing was notable: the sitting deputy governor is also from Southern Kaduna but is Muslim, meaning Adams' selection now brings a Christian voice from the same region into the ticket.
He described Adams as bringing valuable private- and public-sector governance experience to the administration, holding fellowships with the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and the Nigerian Institute of Management, alongside certification as a National Accountant, with a background in tax and public administration.
Haruna characterized Uba Sani's leadership as people-first and aimed at healing a state he said had long been fractured along various lines. He said the governor entered office believing Kaduna belongs equally to all residents indigenous or not and has worked to build a shared vision across communities. As evidence of this political reach, Haruna pointed to the APC's current control of all 23 local government areas in the state.
Though acknowledging insecurity persists in some areas, Haruna credited the administration with tangible security and infrastructure gains, particularly on the Kaduna-Abuja highway, once notorious for attacks on travelers.
He attributed the turnaround to the governor's coordination with federal authorities, claiming the route is now passable at all hours with far less risk, alongside improved conditions in Birnin Gwari and parts of Southern Kaduna.
On agriculture, Haruna said the administration has recovered over 20,000 hectares of farmland from non-state actors, enabling displaced farmers to resume work and boosting food production. New roads connecting farming communities to markets, he said, are part of the governor's promised push for rural development.
Haruna framed the Uba Sani-Adams pairing as more than a campaign strategy — presenting it as a bridge across Kaduna's religious and ethnic divides that also brings professional expertise to governance.
He expressed confidence that the party's record on security, jobs, agriculture, infrastructure, and inclusive politics will carry it into the 2027 election, with the ticket positioned as a symbol of continuity and unity for communities statewide.
