Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, (SWAN), Akwa Ibom state chapter has congratulated the newly elected President, Mr Isaiah Benjamin and other members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) on their emergence at the 2023 National Triennial Congress of the Association.
Other NEC members include, Prince Bonny Nyong from the chapter, who emerged as the Deputy National President after a keenly contested exercise in Omoku, Rivers State.
The chapter message was contained in a communique issued at the end this month's Congress of the chapter in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital on Friday.
The document was signed by members of the communique drafting committee and co-signed by chapter chairman, Messrs. Emmanuel Akpan and Secretary, Theophilus Udo.
Congress commended the State Executive Committee, Mr. Emmanuel Akpan led State Exco., for the moral support offered to Prince Bonny Nyong before, during and after the SWAN National Triennial Congress.
Congress also congratulated the immediate past Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Sir Monday Ebong Uko who has been nominated for the posi of Commissioner in the Gov. Umo Eno-led administration.
Members however, expressed confidence that Mr. Uko would consolidate on his lofty achievements in sports development, if given another opportunity.
Members also rejoice with Deborah Ekanem for emerging as Secretary, Sensor Chapel of NUJ, Akwa Ibom State Council, following her victory in the recently conducted election.
