The Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Zaria Unit, Comrade Sagir Muhammad Auwal, led executive members on a courtesy visit to the Zaria Area Command of the Federal Fire Service to strengthen collaboration.
The Chairman expressed appreciation for the commendable efforts of the Federal Fire Service in safeguarding lives and properties from fire disasters within the community.
He emphasized the need for enhanced partnerships to further this critical mission.
The Chairman appealed to the Commander to keep his door open to Journalists whenever the need arises.
According to him, the Federal Fire Service in Zaria was underreported by the media despite its significant achievements in service to humanity.
In his remarks, the Area Commander, Aminu Amadu, welcomed the gesture and expressed his willingness to collaborate closely with the NUJ to promote fire safety awareness among the public.
Highlighting the Command's achievements, the Commander noted that the operational team had saved properties worth billions of naira and sensitized thousands of individuals on fire safety through enlightenment campaigns.
Following the meeting, the Chairman was taken on a tour of the fire station to observe the capabilities of the fire trucks.
ACF Aminu explained that the modern fire appliances were designed to effectively combat fire outbreaks when needed.
